From the Daily Telegraph online where you can read the full article.

Jess Fitzpatrick, 18, who rowed for the England junior team and is hoping to compete in the 2012 Olympics, earned As in maths and history and a B in German.

Jess combined her academic work at St Peter’s School in York with daily training sessions on the water both before and after school. She now plans to take a year out before university to try to earn a rowing scholarship. At the same time, she will try to get into the England under-23 rowing squad, with the aim of getting into the team for the 2012 Olympics.

She said that to balance her study with homework and rowing she had had to be “really organised”.
