Golden Gate Endeavour
Molesey Club member and seasoned extreme rower Chris Martin has been joined by Mick Dawson to row across the Pacific Ocean. The intrepid pair have set out from Choshi in Japan and aim to row the 5,100 nautical miles to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge without assistance. If they achieve this feat they will become the first ocean rowing boat ever to do this.
The planned route across the North Pacific Ocean is plagued by huge weather systems moving easterly from the Asian Continent with typhoons and tropical storms posing a particularly threat at the beginning of the journey.
And yet what is even more surprising is that in between all the rowing Chris manages to write a fatihful and detailed blog almost everyday. To keep up-to date with the trials and tribulations of the row, Chris Martin’s blog can be found at the Golden Gate Endeavour website
