UWE were victorious in both the Mens Senior race, after Bristol were disqualified for false starts, and the Mens and Womens Alumni races. Unfortunately both alumni races were non-qualifying so Bristol rowed through to overall victory. Still the day was memorable for having the first ever Second Novice eight race in Boat Race history, highlighting the growth and popularity of the event. Moreover UWE were thrilled that Peter Reed had taken the time to come down to race for UWE in his Coldharbour colours, and for presenting the awards at the end of the day. ADVERT The result on Saturday means that Bristol have lifted the Varsity Blade 10 times and UWE five times since the Boat Race started in 1995.
