A delegation of 65 have arrived in Croatia, Zagreb for the (European University Sports Association) EUSA Rowing Championships.
It’s been a record-breaking Olympics for GB rowing; 39 rowers to the final, six medals, a first lightweight medal, overall Olympic regatta winners on points and medals. British Rowing is very much in the news. No sooner has the action in Beijing finished, than a squad of 54 rowers representing British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) are packing their bags and heading to Croatia in Zagreb for the 4th European Universities (EUSA) Regatta.
The EUSA Championships are particularly important to BUCS rowing in that they allow individuals to compete within their University crews and to represent their University – but at the same time be part of the national team. The squad has been selected based on results from the BUSA (now known as BUCS)Regatta earlier this year and a total of 8 different Universities (Birmingham, Glasgow, Imperial, Loughborough, Newcastle, Northumbria, Nottingham and Oxford) and 17 crews will be representing BUCS at the event.
