Northampton J18 rowers smash World Indoor relay record
On Saturday 12th July, Northampton Rowing Club’s J18 squad of Lawrence Key, Andy Line, James Moore, Isaac Orr, Ed Sanders, Ollie Storey, Sam Thomson, Gareth Tootill, Alex Waller and Anthony Webb produced an astonishing display of extreme endurance to demolish the World J18 Indoor 100km relay record.
Cheered on by a huge crowd at the Grosvenor shopping centre in Northampton, the guys took 7mins 53s off the Windsor Boys School record to finish in a time of 4:37:55.
Funds raised from their efforts will go towards Northampton’s new boathouse project and Macmillan Cancer Relief.
