The Advanced Coach Qualification, previously known as Level 4, is for coaches working in any environment or discipline of rowing, who want to develop their practice to the highest level.

Do you want to become a leader in your area of coaching?

The Qualification is a professional education and development programme for rowing coaches. Designed in partnership with Stirling University, the course creates an optimum learning environment for coaches who want to design, implement and evaluate long-term specialist coaching programmes.

Who is Advanced Coach for?

Advanced Coach is the next qualification stage for anyone who has recently completed the Senior Club Coach qualification, or equivalent.

This qualification is ideal for coaches who are committed to their own development, have the desire to learn, are open to taking on new ideas and to reflecting on their current coaching. It provides the opportunity to develop an in-depth understanding of coaching values and philosophy, and supports you to become an ambassador for an area of coaching that you are passionate about.

Who can take on an Advanced Coach qualification?

To study for Advanced Coach, you will need to:

  • Hold a Senior Club Coach Certificate or recognised equivalent qualification, such as a World Rowing coaching qualification
  • Demonstrate an ongoing and up to date commitment to your ongoing professional development, and the impact it has had on your coaching
  • Demonstrate that you’ve been a high-performing coach in a specific environment for a minimum of five years
  • Display high-performing characteristics aligned to the Advanced Coach criteria
  • Provide two references who are able to verify your expertise and experience
