Could your club support Brentford Boat Club as they rebuild?

Any spare equipment, especially trailers or racking, would be gratefully received to help Brentford BC continue their programme

Brentford Boat Club is a newly-formed, junior-only rowing club which specialises in bringing young people into the sport of rowing and giving them the opportunity to race competitively, as well as recreationally. Over 90% of their juniors are state-school educated from the London Boroughs of Hounslow, Ealing and Richmond.

Unfortunately, Brentford BC have had to bid goodbye to their home at Ferry Quays in Brentford. With generous support from some boat clubs on the Thames, they’ve been able to continue some of their training, and have located a potential water site to start again in Chiswick. This does mean they’ll be starting from the ground up, so any support from the rowing community would be greatly appreciated by the children and parents who are working to keep Brentford RC going.

They are looking for rowing kit that could be donated, loaned or purchased, especially:

  • Launch hulls
  • Trolleys
  • Trailers
  • Racking
  • Mini bus

They are also looking for boats, including:

  • Four / Quads
  • Pair / Doubles
  • Singles

Brentford BC athletes train up to four times a week indoors, as well as taking part in two or three weekend water sessions. If any clubs are able to accommodate their athletes for water sessions, please get in touch with Brentford at: [email protected].

Brentford BC are also looking for a new site for their indoor training, which would be hard to continue at their new water site. If anyone has any connections or space in and around Brentford, especially any schools or sports programmes, please get in touch through the email above!
