Harn Jagpal and Mike Westcott appointed to the Board of British Rowing

Harn and Mike will both serve as Independent Non Executive Directors

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Harn Jagpal as Independent Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Safeguarding Committee. Mike Westcott as Independent Non-Executive Director and Chair of People and Culture Committee

Harn joined The Yorkshire County Cricket Club in August 2024 as General Counsel and Club Secretary. She now holds the position of Group Strategic Counsel and Company Secretary.

Harn has a wealth of legal experience across sporting and listed organisations and is recognised for bringing clarity to decision making and her collaborative working style.

Harn fell in love with rowing whilst at University in Durham and followed her passion to Bradford Amateur Rowing Club where she was a member for many years before having children.

Mike has a successful track record as a senior executive in FTSE 20 companies working across the UK, US and Europe. He was Chief People Officer and Head of Commercial Property at National Grid for 12 years and prior to this spent 14 years with Diageo in various international HR roles. Mike brings extensive experience of managing organisational change in large and small organisations. He is currently Chair of a VC-backed technology company and is an advisor to startups. Mike is also Chair of the charity SportsAid, and has served as a trustee at the homeless charity, Centrepoint for 9 years.

Mike is a keen rower – he joined Marlow Rowing Club as a novice rower 30 years ago and has been actively involved ever since. He enjoys competing at Masters events.
