Back from their recent gold medal successes at the European Rowing Coastal and Beach Sprint Championships are James Cox in the Coastal Men’s Solo (CM1x) and Sol Chamberlain-Hyde U19 Coastal Men’s Solo (CJM1x). Laura McKenzie, who won European silver in the Coastal Women’s Solo (CW1x) is also racing.

Megan Hewison who won 2025 European silver in the Endurance Coastal Women’s Solo is partnered with 2024 World Champion Colin Wallace in the Inclusion Mixed double sculls (INMix2x).

Heather Gordon and cox Ryan Glymond will be looking to retain their World title in the Coastal Mixed coxed quadruple sculls (CMix4x+), partnered this year with Natasha Phillips, Gregor Hall and Chris Thompson.

Cameron Buchan and Natacha Searson, both World Champions in 2025 are paired together in the Coastal Mixed double sculls (CMix2x) and will be looking to build on their quarter final performance at the 2024 Europeans.

Tom Pattichis, GB Rowing Team head coach for Beach Sprints said: “This is the first World Championships of the LA Olympiad so it will be great to benchmark our squad against the rest of the world, at this early stage where we are continuing to learn and refine our approach. We had a good ‘practice run’ at the Europeans, winning two gold medals and one silver, so being back on the same beach and at the same venue will help build our confidence and I’m sure the spectators are in for a real treat with some close racing across the weekend.”
