Turkey and Spain in sight for Beach Sprint Squad
Teams announced for 2025 European Rowing Coastal and Beach Sprint Championships and 2025 Coupe de la Jeunesse Beach Sprint

The International coastal rowing season begins with the 2025 European Rowing Coastal and Beach Sprint Championships taking place in Antalya, Türkiye from 8-12 October and the 2025 Coupe de la Jeunesse Beach Sprint taking place in Provincia de Cádiz, Spain from 31 October to 2 November.
Great Britain will field a squad of twenty-three experienced and development athletes across both events as we build towards the World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals early in November.
The European Rowing Coastal and Beach Sprint Championships sees three recently crowned British Beach Sprint Champions take on some of the best Beach Sprint athletes in Europe. Laura McKenzie will race in the Coastal women’s solo while Cam Buchan and Natacha Searson are in the Coastal mixed double sculls. James Cox races in the Coastal men’s solo and completes the senior Europeans line up.
In addition, a group of talented U19 athletes will also race in the Beach Sprint events on the clear turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
Just a few weeks later, a group of eight juniors will don GB vests at the 2025 Coupe de la Jeunesse Beach Sprint in Spain, many of whom will be representing Great Britain for the first time.
Tom Pattichis, GB Rowing Team head coach for Beach Sprints said: “Now Beach Sprints is on the Olympic programme for LA 2028, we are working hard to develop the programme and I am looking forward to seeing how our athletes perform against the best of Europe and at the Coupe at these first International events of LA cycle.”
