GB Rowing Team launches Para recruitment campaign

The GB Rowing Team is looking for new recruits to join the world’s most successful Para Rowing programme. Spearheaded by Lauren Rowles, the greatest Paralympic rower of all time, the new campaign highlights the need for a new PR2 female rower to take Lauren’s seat following her recent retirement.
Lauren said: “Joining the GB Rowing team changed my life and helped me reach my full potential. Now, I’m ready to hand the baton over to the next generation. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never rowed before – just 18 months after I took my first rowing strokes, I won gold at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, and ten years later, I’m the greatest paralympic rower of all time. All because I took a chance at an opportunity just like this.”
Nicola Benavente, GB Rowing Team Paralympic Head Coach explained: “We’re looking for someone determined, driven and up for a challenge. They may already be in competitive sport or just looking for an exciting new opportunity to reach their potential. We need raw talent, NOT rowing experience. We don’t care if you have never touched an oar. The right person is out there, somewhere. If you or someone you know could thrive in this environment and be part of the journey to LA2028 get in touch today!”
