Great Britain’s Men’s eight and Women’s quadruple sculls both finished third at the Schleswig-Holstein Netz Cup in Germany.

Cheered on by around 80,000 spectators along the 12.7km course, known as one of the toughest rowing races in the world, the Men’s eight finished third in 37.41 mins with German crews taking first and second place.

Making history were the Women’s quadruple sculls – the first time women’s crews have taken on the race in its 25 year history, they also finished third, in 43.11 minutes behind Germany in first place and the Netherlands in second.

Coached by GB Rowing Team’s Head Coach for the Olympic Pathway Pete Sheppard and Oxford Brookes University’s Sam Sheppard, the two crews also took on the Ergo Cup and the Rowing Sprint Cup – a short sprint over 350 metres.

Selected for the women’s quadruple sculls were Poppy Baker, fresh from her 2025 World Rowing U23 Championship gold medal win in Poznan and GB Rowing Team’s Freya Keto. They were joined by Rebekah Court, who raced in the A final of the women’s double sculls at the recent World University Games and Molesey BC’s Heloise Wormleighton.

The Men’s eight included Max Mills & cox Beatrice Argyle who won gold medals at the 2025 World University Games in the men’s & women’s eight respectively, and Toby Lassen & Felix Rawlinson, bronze medal winners in the Men’s pair also at the 2025 World University Games. Making up the rest of the crew were Robbie Prosser, Kai Schlottmann, Jonathon Cameron, George Reed and Levin Graf.
