Liz Behnke is the director of Syzygy Leisure. She has a wide breadth of knowledge within the leisure industry which means that she can turn her hand to most things. With more than thirty years working in the leisure industry, Liz possesses a wide range of skills in the fields of inward investment, as an applicant, assessor and advisor. She has considerable experience in facility design, development, operation and management, as a result of working with projects in the private, voluntary and public sectors.

Liz has a strong background in sports development and has worked in rural, urban and inner city environments. In her career she has written and developed many leisure strategies and plans and carried out some innovative research particularly around equality in sport. She is well respected as a trainer and facilitator and is also a first aid trainer.

Liz is also an expert in safeguarding in sport, working with several governing bodies of sport to develop and deliver their safeguarding policies and strategies as well as undertaking investigations and case management work.
