Faster Masters was founded on the principle that the best way to steer your personal ‘ship’ into happier, healthier, novel horizons is through rowing. The competitors at the British Rowing Masters Championships exemplified this over the weekend as they challenged themselves over the 1,000m course in Nottingham.
London Rowing Club had a strong performance across the board, with gold medals won in the Open B Eights, Women’s B Coxed Fours and Open D Coxless Fours.
S”To retain the Victor Ludorum is incredibly special to everyone at London Rowing Club,” said James Sexton-Barrow. “It’s been a project in planning since the first day after last years Championships, which has brought together masters from across all our rowing groups to achieve a shared goal. This year the volume and standard of competition was a whole new level, and we were pushed incredibly hard. It’s clear that the whole masters rowing community across the country is going from strength to strength.”
Faster Masters also brought excitement to the event by providing spot prizes for 10 randomly selected competitors.

Immediately after racing concluded, Kingston RC were incorrectly announced as provisional winners of the Victor Ludorum. Final confirmation showed that this was not the case. British Rowing apologies for this initial error, and to any upset it may have caused to members of Kingston RC.
