Where: Join the Level 2 Strength and Conditioning Club Coach course at the Grosvenor Rowing Club (day 1), The Groves, Chester, CH1 1SD. Kings School Boathouse (Day 2,3,4) Grosvenor Park Terrace,Chester,CH1 1QG. 

When: 3rd February (Saturday), 4th February (Sunday), 3rd March (Sunday), 14th April (Sunday) 2024. The course will commence at 0900 am on all days. 

About the course: Do you want to make your rowers faster and stronger, and reduce the likelihood of injury? If yes, the Level 2 Strength and Conditioning Club Coach course is exactly what you need to prepare, deliver, and review strength and conditioning coaching sessions.   

This course is also a requisite for a coach to be certificated as a qualified Level 3 Senior Club Coach Certificate in Coaching Rowing

Who can attend? Anyone over 16 years of age inspired to develop their strength and conditioning coaching skills. For details specific to the 16–17 age group, they can be found in the section titled ‘For Coaches aged 16-17’.   

Mandatory Pre-requisites: Prior to enrolling onto this course, you must have completed and have certification of the following prerequisites.  

  • Current ‘Safeguarding & Protecting Children Workshop’
  • Current ‘Emergency Aid Training’  
  • Both ‘Safeguarding & Protecting Children Workshop’ AND ‘Emergency Aid Training’ need to be valid while you are working towards the certification of your Level 2 Strength and Conditioning course.  

‘Safeguarding and Protecting Children’ training must be through UK Coaching - see https://www.ukcoaching.org/courses/workshops/safeguarding-protecting-children. Emergency Aid’ can be done with any independent provider. It must be a practical course that includes emergency CPR training. 

For coaches aged 16-17: 

If you are 16 or 17, you will need to be 16 at the time of booking. A parent or guardian will need to complete a consent form, which will be sent as a part of the booking confirmation email at the time of booking. Once you complete the ‘Independent Assessment’, your assessor will submit your ‘Record of Achievement’. Once you have been passed, you will be certificated fully after your 18th birthday. Until you are 18, you must be supervised during all coaching activities. You will be required to complete Safeguarding and Protecting Children 16-18 instead of the equivalent training for adults.
