Sparks Rowing – Programme Leader (multiple roles available)

Sparks Rowing, an experiential education firm with rowing camps in the US, Europe, New Zealand, and Japan is hiring Program Leaders for our 2023 Summer Camps. We are a community of adventurers dedicated to growing through experience. If you are interested in experiential education, adventure, and rowing, then please step on up and join us.

Responsibilities for Program Leaders:

  • Supporting camp operations and logistics (moving campers between locations, room checks, running warm-ups, helping boats launch and dock, etc.)
  • Running large group activities and small group reflective discussions
  • Helping build community amongst campers and staff
  • Supporting campers and fellow staff

Program Leaders are required to arrive at camp the day before each camp begins by 9am for staff training.

There is the opportunity to coach our Learn to Row cohort, but the Program Leader role is not a coaching position.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • 21 years old or older
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Teaching or coaching experience on the junior or collegiate level
  • Medical Training (CPR/First Aid)
  • A background and/or understanding of the field of experiential education
  • An interest in programmatic culture, coaching pedagogy, and/or general education
  • Psycho-social skills, self-awareness, authenticity, and kind-heartedness
  • Able to easily travel to camp locations (we are unable to cover travel to and between camps)

Compensation/Benefits:

  • $800 USD stipend per camp
  • Lodging and food are covered during camp
  • Opportunity to ride in launches with coaching staff
  • Opportunity to work camps in both the US and internationally
