City of Cambridge Rowing Club – Women’s Head Coach and Men’s Head Coach

City of Cambridge Rowing Club is looking to recruit both a Women’s Head Coach and Men’s Head Coach for the start of the 2023/24 season.  The successful candidate will be responsible for driving performance to the next level across their respective squad.

Women’s Head Coach

In recent years the squad has competed regularly at the main head races and regattas with wins at Pairs Head, a Beginner Pennant at WeHoRR and a win at Wallingford. The Head Women’s Coach will report to the Director of Rowing; and work with captains and lead a team of volunteer coaches to deliver a top tier program that both inspires and enables the club’s athletes to achieve their potential. Although this is a volunteer role, the successful applicant will be supported by the club’s full time Director of Rowing to gain a Level 3 coaching award which will be funded by the club. In addition, there will be opportunities for paid session coaching.

 Men’s Head Coach

This season the squad gained a beginner pennant at HoRR and had crews competing in the Prince of Wales and Thames Challenge Cups at HRR. The Head Men’s Coach will report to the Director of Rowing; and work with captains and lead a team of volunteer coaches to deliver a top tier program that both inspires and enables the club’s athletes to achieve their potential. Although this is a volunteer role, the successful applicant will be supported by the club’s full time Director of Rowing to gain a Level 3 coaching award which will be funded by the club. In addition, there will be opportunities for additional paid session coaching.

City of Cambridge Rowing Club is the oldest town rowing club in Cambridge. The club has a large membership from juniors, through seniors to masters across sweep and sculling. It competes both regionally and nationally. The club has a new boathouse which includes a modern gym, clubroom and boat bay with the most modern fleet on the river Cam.
