British Rowing – Learning, Education and Development Manager

Are you curious about learning?  Do you have strong project management experience?  Have you got an interest in rowing?

British Rowing are looking for a Learning, Education and Development Manager to join the team. You will be supporting coaches, officials’, rowers, and club leaders by managing the implementation of British Rowing’s new Learning, Education and Development Strategy and the update and relaunch of the Henley Royal Regatta Stewards Charitable Trust coaching programme.

📣A bit about the role

The Learning, Education and Development Department develops and delivers education and training to the British Rowing membership across all regions in line with the organisation’s strategic objectives.

This includes all our rowing community, with an emphasis on coaches, officials, rowers and club leaders.

The department leads on the development of curriculum content, educational conferences and programmes that aspire to raise the quality of coaching and volunteering, thus improving the experience for rowers. The department works alongside the Talent Pathway team to align the coach development pathway with the rower development pathway.

You will be curious about teaching, learning and assessment design, with the ability to create an all-round learning experience which is appealing and accessible to our rowing community.  You will have strong project management experience, great inter-personal skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.

We are the governing body for rowing, responsible for supporting grassroots rowing in England and getting the GB Rowing Team ready for the Olympics, Paralympics and other international competitions. We are committed to making rowing a sport that welcomes and has an offer for everyone.

We are a membership organisation with over 30,000 individual members and we support over 550 affiliated clubs and 230 affiliated events. We cover all types of rowing whether it’s on the river, in the gym or on the sea. We aim to provide a high quality service to all parts of the rowing community.

You’ll have the option of being based in either our Hammersmith office or working remotely from home. You’ll be employed full-time with a salary of between £34k and £38k, dependant on experience. You’ll also get some great perks as part of the team at British Rowing including 25 days holiday each year, ROW membership and staff kit.
