GB wins six medals at U23 European Rowing Championships

Four GB Rowing Team women’s boats and two men’s crews won bronze at the 2022 European Rowing Under 23 Championships in Hazewinkel, Belgium on 3-4 September

The four successful women’s crews were Olivia Bates in the lightweight single sculls (BLW1x);  Annabelle Ruinet and Lauren Maddison in the lightweight double sculls (BLW2x); Lauren Henry and Vwairé Obukohwo in the double sculls (BW2x); and Jessica Martin, Grace Dening Smitherman, Annie Sharp and Maia Hely in the coxless four (BW4-).

The two men’s crews who enjoyed a trip to the podium were Tom Cross, Ben Hinves, James Doran, and Louis Nares in the coxless four (BM4-); and the men’s eight (BM8+) of Adam Von Bismark, Matt Peters, Felix Rawlinson, Robbie Prosser, Jens Hullah, Jake Wincomb, Laurence Joss, Toby Lassen and cox Zahir Ala.

Results for the three other crews in the nine-boat team were that the men’s double sculls (BM2x) placed fourth, the women’s quad sculls (BW4x) fifth and the men’s quad sculls (BM4x) eighth.
