England Rowing Team selected for the 2026 Home International Rowing Regatta
The Home International Rowing Regatta takes place on Saturday 25 July at The London Regatta Centre, England, hosted by England (British Rowing)
The annual Home Nations match between England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland takes place this Saturday, 25 July at the London Regatta Centre.
The England Rowing Team will be looking to retain all four trophies – the the Senior Men, Senior Women, Junior Men and Junior Women, which in 2025, saw them take home the trophies for the fourth year in a row.

This year, 105 boats from 55 clubs entered the selection trials in Nottingham at Holme Pierrepont. Following the trials, a total of 56 athletes from 25 different clubs have been selected to represent England at the Home International Rowing Regatta across 46 events.

“Representing England last year was a real privilege.” said Aoife Keane (Molesey RC / Twickenham RC*) Senior Women’s Captain, who will race in the Senior Women’s double and quad. Aoife was also part of Molesey’s inaugural winning crew of The Danesfield Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta earlier this month.
Aoife continued, “Last year it was incredibly enjoyable to be part of such a positive and supportive environment, racing alongside athletes from different clubs and learning from each other. Race experience at any level is invaluable, and I am excited to build on that foundation and see what we can achieve at this year’s HIRR.”

Many of these athletes are coming in after wins at events such as Henley Royal Regatta and the British Rowing Club Championships. Now, they’re taking the next step on the journey to representing Great Britain.
“It’s a privilege and honour to represent England at HIRR this Summer after representing England at Beach Sprints HIRR last year in Donegal.” Said Senior Men’s Captain, Oliver Snoxall (Reading University BC / Reading RC*). Oliver will be one of three athletes racing for England, having previously represented England in 2025 himself in the Beach Sprint team; other team members include Daisy Faithful (2024, Reserve / Boat Handler) and Thomas Fuller (2022, Junior Mixed Double).
Oliver continued, “I’m looking forward to competing again for England on flat water, and I’m honoured to be asked to be captain for the senior team. Go England!”
Chris Callow, England HIRR Team Manager, said, “Last weekend we saw over 150 athletes compete in Nottingham for this year’s highly competitive Trials event, which saw some very close racing. I am really excited to see this year’s team race at London Docklands, as we try to defend all 4 trophies won last year, in what will be my first year as the England Team Manager. I’m amazed by the depth and diversity of the team, which is a credit to the programmes on offer across the country within our schools and clubs.”
A small change to the racing line-up for 2026 will see 4 new events with the U23 and Junior “B” Men’s and Women’s Pairs replacing the Coxed Fours. In total, England’s junior team will race across 20 events, with the senior team (including para-rowing classification boats) racing across 26 events. Emil Ghattas (Senior Coach) and Izzy Sellers (Lead Junior Coach) are preparing the crews at their training bases between now and the regatta this weekend, with the support of the selected coaches for each discipline.
James Andrews, British Rowing England Pathway Manager and England Team Delegate, said: “Since 2022, the England Team has achieved some incredible results, which I hope will continue in 2026. I’m sure the other home nations will be eager to challenge us for the top spots in the four trophies, and it will be exciting to see the racing unfold. We have a large number of new volunteers this year who run the team, and they have been doing a fantastic job ensuring everyone will be ready at the start line this Saturday. A lot of work goes into the team and the match to make sure everything goes smoothly, and I’m grateful to the dedicated team of volunteers for the England Team and the Organising Committee who have pulled everything together.”
