Our statement

British Rowing is appalled by developments in Ukraine and condemns the actions taken by Russia against Ukraine. Our thoughts are with the members of the Ukrainian rowing community and the Ukrainian people.

The welfare and wellbeing of our athletes is paramount and we will continue to monitor the situation and stay connected with World Rowing, UK Sport and the UK Government Department for Culture, Media and Sport and to offer help and support in any way we can.

Sport England has put together a guide on how the sport and physical activity sector can help in a time of crisis for the people of Ukraine.

Pull Together for Ukraine

ReSport has created a one-month virtual challenge aiming to collectively row 100 million meters and, more importantly, raise funds for aid to the people of Ukraine. The challenge closes on 31 March.

Row The Distance for Ukraine

Row The Distance has created a new medal in support of Ukraine. 100% of profits will be split between UNICEF and the Red Cross, and will be donated to their respective Ukraine crisis appeals.

The challenge distances go from 1k up to a marathon to make it inclusive as possible. This can be rowed, ran, walked, cycled, wheel chair or swam.

As of 6th March, Row The Distance have raised over £3375 (with gift aid).

Support Ukrainian rowers in Poland

Kasia from the Isle of Ely Rowing Club is raising money for the Polish Rowing Association, who are coordinating efforts with many Polish rowing clubs to host Ukrainian rowers.
