British Rowing statement on Ukraine

British Rowing is appalled by developments in Ukraine and condemns the actions taken by Russia against Ukraine. Our thoughts are with the members of the Ukrainian rowing community and the Ukrainian people.

British Rowing is appalled by developments in Ukraine and condemns the actions taken by Russia against Ukraine. Our thoughts are with the members of the Ukrainian rowing community and the Ukrainian people.

We recognise and endorse the positions stated by the IOC, the BOA, the BPA and other sporting bodies and welcome the statement issued today from World Rowing which condemns the action and bans the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials at international rowing competitions with immediate effect and until further notice.

The welfare and wellbeing of our athletes is paramount and we will continue to monitor the situation and stay connected with World Rowing, UK Sport and DCMS and to offer help and support in any way we can.
