Guests included Sir Matthew Pinsent, Alex Gregory and Mark Davies, Chair of British Rowing, alongside Josh Bugajski and Lauren Rowles, both current members of the GB Rowing Team and ambassadors for Love Rowing.

Love Rowing’s mission is to change lives, working together with its partners, through the unique benefits and transformative impact of rowing.

Hosted by Charlie Webster, the launch event saw a “Rowing’s Greatest Moments” panel discussion from GB rowers past and present select Dame Katherine Grainger’s London 2012 Gold medal as their greatest moment. A silent auction, live auction and even an indoor rowing challenge supported by WaterRower completed the entertainment.

Through the enormous generosity of guests and corporate benefactors alike, so far the event has raised over £50,000 including the announcement of support for Love Rowing’s first programmes from Howdens, the Port of London Authority and Grafton.  All the proceeds will be going towards the creation of accessible and inclusive rowing programmes for communities that are currently under-represented in the sport.

The enormously successful night could not have happened without the support and sponsorship of SAS, Official Analytics Partner of British Rowing, and law firm Macfarlanes LLP.
