Overview
‘Bringing Your Coaching to Life’ brings the concepts of the Assistant Coach online classrooms* together to deliver the fundamentals of good coaching practice in a practical setting. With peer to peer coaching, you will have the opportunity to understand how to coach skill development, underpinned by the principles of the Rower Development Guide. You will also be introduced to the British Rowing Technical Model. The module is aimed at anyone who is starting out on their formal learning journey and is applicable to coaches working with rowers of any ability.
The training is a core foundation for any coach wanting to experience the principles of the practical coaching environment. You will be supported to understand how to develop and progress as you gain experience back at your club. The module will cover:
Skill Development
The British Rowing technical model
Effective communication
The coaching process
Goal setting
The feedback cycle
Reflective practice
*Please note that we recommend that you complete this module after attending the three online classrooms, but if it is more convenient for you to book onto the practical session before the classrooms, this will not impact your eligibility to achieve the Assistant Coach Training credential.
