Vesta Rowing Club – Men’s Head Coach

Vesta Rowing Club is currently looking for an experienced and aspirational professional coach for Vesta’s Men’s Squad as they look to make the next step forwards in their development.

The Club has made considerable progress in recent years, becoming one of the largest clubs in the country for adult rowing. This has included record entries at Fours Head, the Remenham Challenge, WeHORR, 8’s Head, HWR and HRR and wins at numerous local and national events in recent years.

Vesta’s Senior Men have shown ever improving recent results, both with regard to top rowers and throughout the depth of the squad. The squad was anticipating an extremely strong finish to the season before Covid-19 disrupted plans.

This is a part-time role and, subject to change due to the restrictions of Covid-19, the responsibilities will include:

– Two coached morning sessions on both Saturdays and Sundays.

– Two coached evening sessions during the week.

– Setting the training programme, managing the squad and developing overall squad strategy.

– Leading a team of volunteer coaches to ensure a consistent approach to athlete development.

– Working with the Senior Women’s Head Coach and with the Club Captain to maintain club cohesion and target similar events.

The new coaches will have at their disposal a very well-equipped gym and an excellently maintained fleet.

The package on offer will reflect the successful candidates experience, and be competitive for the time commitment required. For more information, please contact Chris Clements on [email protected].

All applicants should provide a CV or a covering letter by Wednesday 12th August. Interviews will take place the weekend of 15th/16th August.

Application Dates: From Friday 31st July 2020 to Wednesday 12th August 2020
