Vesta RC – Volunteer Coach

Vesta Rowing Club are looking for a volunteer coach to join the Senior Women’s coaching team. As a club we pride ourselves on our competitive strength on the water and supportive network for our athletes’ career development. We aim to ensure everyone at the club can reach their full potential in the sport, whether that is as a rower, cox or coach.

Over the last 15 years we have established ourselves as one of the largest and most successful clubs for women’s rowing in the UK, with multiple wins at Henley Women’s Regatta. The Women’s squad continue to achieve results at a high level, including wins at Henley Women’s Regatta and Head of the Charles in the past two seasons. We are looking for an enthusiastic coach, aiming to develop their own skills and knowledge as a coach whilst working with our athletes.

As a volunteer coach, you will:

  • Be responsible for developing experienced rowers as part of our Senior squad.
  • Gain experience coaching Senior and Development level rowers under the guidance of our existing successful coaching team, led by Women’s Head Coach Leigh Curtis Green.
  • Work with athletes with a range of experience, supporting them to reach their full potential in the sport.
  • Have access to top quality equipment; from Fillipi shells to Concept2’s, RowPerfect3 Ergs and a fully equipped gym.
  • Be able to drive a launch (preferably RYA Level 2 Powerboat but not essential).

Currently our Senior Women’s Squad train on the water Tuesday evenings, and both mornings at the weekend. As a volunteer we understand you may not be able to make every session but do expect commitment in line with that of our athletes.

To apply: Please email our Captain, Chris Clements at [email protected] to discuss more about the role and if it is the right fit for you.

Application Dates: Open
