Tyne ARC is looking for part-time coaches to join our Tyne Youth Rowing (TYR) team. TYR is a new sporting initiative looking to enable young people from local schools, in receipt of pupil premium funding, to participate in the sport of rowing.

The TYR programme is continuing to grow this year in 2024, and we need another coach to join the team. Each school project is about 35 weeks long and is based at Tyne ARC. Each school completes one 2-hour session per week. There will be a maximum of 10 participants per school group, with a school staff member present at all sessions. We are looking for part-time coach.

As a collaborative team sport, we want to help participants develop essential life skills, including leadership (confidence), teamwork, and self-discipline. At TYR, weare keen for rowing to be accessible to all, regardless of gender, sexuality, background, ability or location.

Our programme is supported by Henley Royal Regatta Charitable Trust, Love Rowing, and St Nicolas Trust and will be run with collaboration from Northumbria University, who will be working to monitor the programme.
