RGS Worcester – part-time coach

Are you an experienced rower? Do you enjoy teaching others how to develop their skills and enjoy their time on the water? RGS Worcester may have the ideal role for you as a part-time coach to support the expanding pupil interest in rowing!

RGS Worcester is looking for a part-time rowing coach to support the growing Rowing interest, join the enthusiastic and committed rowing team to encourage students to discover rowing, develop their skills and hone their abilities to compete in various meets.

This may suit a recent graduate or current undergraduate who would like to gain valuable experience in a School setting or Level 2-qualified rowing coach who is looking to lend their expertise.

The successful candidate would be required to support with Games, lunchtime and after-school sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday river training sessions. The candidate would also be expected to attend rowing fixtures during the academic year, occasional holiday training days / rowing camps. Ideally you’d be able to support up to 24 hours per week.

To work closely with the Head of Rowing and the lead coaches to deliver high quality rowing coaching to boys and girls aged J14-18. Provide support to the coaching team at rowing fixtures and events. Assist with the delivery of land training sessions in the school’s well-equipped fitness suite and sports halls.

The ideal candidate will have experience of rowing and sculling. Understanding of British Sculling / Rowing Stroke and technical drills and skills. Coaching experience is preferable but full training will be given. Please read the job description for further details.
