Membership Officer

We’re looking for a Membership Officer to join the team. You’ll be helping us to support members, clubs and competitions by answering their questions and providing the best possible customer service experience.

📣A bit about the role

The Membership Officer is a front-line customer services role within British Rowing’s Membership team. This role is a critical business role designed to improve the day to day running of membership support. If you are passionate about helping people and supporting the sport, then this role is for you! The team offers support via email and telephone to ensure our 30,000 individual members, 550 rowing clubs, schools and universities and 230 affiliated competitions have the best possible experience of British Rowing as an organisation. We’re a small team and so we might also ask you to do other bits from time to time.

👋 A bit about you

You’ll be a customer-centric ‘people person’ with excellent verbal and written communication skills. You have a can-do attitude and are always looking at generating efficiencies in the way we do things. We need someone who is able to deal with high volumes of work at peak times and is comfortable working with a membership management system.

Our passion is rowing. We are the governing body for rowing, responsible for supporting grassroots rowing in England and getting the GB Rowing Team ready for the Olympics, Paralympics and other international competitions.

We are a membership organisation with over 30,000 individual members and we are looking to support over 550 affiliated clubs and 230 affiliated events. We cover all types of rowing whether it’s on the river, in the gym (on a rowing machine) or even on the sea and so a key aim is provide high quality service to all parts of the rowing community.

🙌 What we offer

You’ll be based in our head office alongside the river in Hammersmith, London. You’ll be employed full-time with a salary of around £22,500 each year, dependent on your experience. You’ll also get some great perks as part of the team at British Rowing including 25 days holiday each year, ROW membership and free staff kit.
