Lancaster University Boat Club

We are looking for a coach for our Senior Women’s squad. Our squad is currently made up of around 20 women of varied experience levels. Our main races of the year are Roses (a varsity race against York University) and BUCS, although where athletes are committed to doing so we aim to send a crew to Henley as well.

The main role of the coach would be to coach water sessions, assist the Senior Women’s Captain in making training plans and crew selections. Coaching some land training and attending races would be preferred but is not essential.

This past year the women’s squad have not had a coach but have nevertheless managed to perform well and win races, and so this year we are looking to further improve the technique and performance of our women by having a coach who can guide the women to being even better rowers.

An ideal candidate would have a level 2 coaching qualification or higher, but proof of previous coaching experience is also acceptable. It is vital any coach has the athletes health and well-being as a priority, and is able to communicate effectively with the Senior Women’s Captain and the squad as a whole.

For more information please email the Senior Women’s Captain (Josie Llewellyn).
