Exeter College Boat Club – Head Coach

Exeter College Boat Club is looking for a new Head Coach. One of the oldest clubs in Oxford, ECBC is a friendly and ambitious club, with our emphasis now on finding a committed and supportive coach to maintain the positive environment we currently enjoy, who will help to build the squad and strengthening the existing crew.

Role expectations:

Organising and overseeing the training schedule, which may look like:

– 4-5 sessions per week, potentially including:

  • 2+ water sessions (incl. one at the weekend)
  • 1 erg session
  • 1 weights session
  • Training the novices at the beginning of term

Helping to train our coxes (almost all are novice status)

Skills desired:

  • Good level of rowing experience
  •  Some experience in coaching
  • Familiarity with OURCs rules
  • Flexibility with timings to accommodate for academic commitments
  • Available during Torpids week (first week of March 2022) and Summer VIIIs week
    (last week of May 2022)
  • Confidence in ability

Salary:

Paid by the hour and dependent upon experience (minimum hours per week guaranteed)
