Cranmore School – Required Immediately Part Time, Permanent

Cranmore is a leading independent school in Surrey having taught prep school pupils for 50 years. In September 2019, Cranmore became part of the Effingham Schools Trust and will educate pupils through to age 18. In our February 2022 inspection report inspectors rated the school ‘excellent’ in all areas. They highlighted our strong sporting ethos and that pupils understand that as part of leading a healthy lifestyle, participation in sport and other physical pursuits can make a positive contribution to their physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Cranmore is in an area of outstanding natural beauty with enviable sports facilities including a swimming pool (with a sculling boat for capsize drills) and athletic development centre equipped with Concept 2 ergometers. Outdoor rowing is on the River Thames using a local rowing club boathouse where the school stores its own quads, octuples and blades. Pupils participate in heads, regattas and indoor rowing competitions with a history of winning medals.

Cranmore School Rowing Club boats out of Walton Rowing Club where in addition to its own fleet of boats it has access to Walton’s boats and training facilities. The club is supported by the Walton Rowing Club coaching team and also enjoys strong support from parents.

We seek a level 2 rowing coach to build upon and develop rowing at Cranmore. The post is for 1 afternoon (Wednesday) per week during term time with some additional hours for competitions as required. £25 per hour.

The Effingham Schools Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Our recruitment process follows the guidelines in KCSIE.
Applicants undergo enhanced screening including checks with past employers, the DFE and the DBS.
