Churchill College Cambridge – Boathouse Supervisor

Churchill College is seeking to appoint a Boathouse Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Combined College’s Boathouse. The award winning 1500m2 Boathouse is shared by the combined Cambridge Colleges of Churchill, King’s and Selwyn, together with The Leys School and includes changing rooms, fitness rooms and club rooms as well as the boat storage bays and workshop and is purpose built with resilience to flooding and to ensure ease of cleaning-out and safety in wet conditions.

The Boathouse Supervisors are responsible for the maintenance and safety of the Boathouse, including the grounds, building and boats. They coordinate and supervise the activities of the clubs and other users of the boathouse to enable them safely to develop their skills and competencies
at College and School rowing level.

Successful candidates will have extensive knowledge of rowing and safe rowing techniques, excellent inter-personal skills and proven knowledge and application of health and safety principles. They will ideally have experience in working in an education environment, be able to undertake basic repairs to boats and have knowledge of plant and building maintenance issues.

The role is 0.6 FTE – working an average of 22.5 hours per week, although this will vary seasonally.
