Cheltenham College – Rowing Coach (zero hours)

For a January 2022 start, Cheltenham College is looking to recruit a dynamic, encouraging Rowing Coach who has strong experience in rowing or in coaching rowing. The postholder will coach a group within the squad to a high standard and, in conjunction with the Director of Rowing, be responsible for implementing the training program and coaching systems needed to take the Boat Club to success.

It is essential that applicants have a genuine passion for the sport of rowing and are able to motivate students within their rowing group.

RYA Powerboat Level 2 is essential. British Rowing Coach Level 2 and Minibus License would be desirable.

Although this is a zero-hours role, Rowing Coaches work approximately 10 hours per week during term time and normal working days are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with a mix of land training at College and water training at Tewkesbury. Additional rowing sessions do occasionally take place on other days.

Rowing’s main season at College is in the Spring and Summer Terms (January until July), but is also on offer for some pupils during all 3 terms, though your main period of work is likely to be in the main season.

Hourly rate will be dependent upon coaching level and experience. Prior to applying, if you would like to discuss any preliminary questions you might have, please email the Director of Rowing, Nick Moffatt: [email protected].

How to apply

Application forms and a full job description can be found on the College website.

Cheltenham College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in its recruitment and selection of job applicants and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

We are committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and applications from suitably qualified individuals are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships. We encourage all candidates to ensure that College is aware of your particular requirements should you be invited to interview.

Application Dates: From Saturday 20th November 2021 to Wednesday 1st December 2021
