August 7, 2020 Jobs Chair of Steering Group for the 2022 World Rowing Coastal Championships and Beach Sprint Finals Chair of Steering Group for the 2022 World Rowing Coastal Championships and Beach Sprint Finals Great Britain has secured the rights to host the World Rowing Coastal Championships and Beach Sprint Finals in 2022. They will be held in Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire, Wales, in October. British Rowing is looking to appoint a chair of the Steering Group for the event who can drive the strategic objectives for the World Rowing Coastal Championships and Beach Sprint Finals 2022 and support the Organising Committee. We require a very motivated and creative individual with a high level of event and stakeholder leadership experience. The Steering Group will meet bi-monthly alternating face to face meetings in Saundersfoot and virtual meetings. We anticipate the role will require an annual commitment of approximately 14 days. The Steering Group comprises all the major stakeholders of the event. The Group reports into Board and the Chair will be required to attend British Rowing Board meetings for the agenda point relating to the event and act as the point of contact between the Board and Steering Group. The World Rowing Coastal Championships and Beach Sprint Finals is rapidly growing in popularity and the IOC will vote, in December this year, on whether one or other formats will be included in a future Olympics. There is great scope for innovation and 2022 will be a particularly exciting year in the development of the sport.
