Bournemouth University – Coach

Bournemouth University (BU) are looking to recruit an experienced, qualified (level 2 or higher) and motivated coach to support its rowing programme. We have a comprehensive programme within BU and aspire to grow the size and success of the club.

This coach will work with our existing coach to plan and deliver weekly training sessions, provide race day management, liaise with support services and work with the Performance Sport team to ensure the programme is delivered successfully.

This is a paid opportunity with a current scheduled training time of up to 16 hours per week plus events over a 24 week programme (weekly hours are negotiable and confirmed at point of contract award). For more information on the Performance Sport Programme at BU please visit the following page.

This appointment will commence October 2021 and will run until April 2022 on a Part Time Hourly Paid (PTHP) Contract. This position does not meet the eligibility requirements for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route within the UK Visa and Immigration service’s Points Based System. Therefore, BU will not be able to sponsor individuals who require permission to work to carry out this position.

Description of Services Required

Provision of rowing coaching, including attendance at race days (where possible) requested by the University, and such additional sessions as agreed.

Dates

Training (Water): Saturday and Sunday mornings

Training (indoor): Mid week mornings

Venue

Canford School and Bournemouth University Talbot Campus.

Fees

Hourly rate for coaching from £20.00ph (rate based on level 2 and dependent upon qualifications and experience).

Monitoring and Evaluation

Monthly feedback form and contact with Performance Sport Manager.
