UKCC Level 2 Award for Rowing Session Coach – Flushing – Pilot

Time: 10:00 – 17:00  6th/7th February  and 10:00 – 14:00  21st February

Description:

The Session Coach will be able to plan and deliver coaching sessions for participants independently as part of a sport/activity programme.

The Learning Programme integrates theory with coaching practice during two days of face to face learning addressing core coaching behaviours and principles and skill development of rowers.

The assessment opportunities involve online multiple choice questions as well as an observation of coaching practice. The observations will take place at the course venue during a morning or afternoon following the face to face learning and provide further water practice and learning opportunities for all learners.

Entry routes for the qualification are varied: suitable for those with some rowing experience and basic understanding of rowing technique wishing to embark on a coaching pathway; activity leaders and learn to row coaches.

Other information:

The free online Safety Basics and Cold Water Hypothermia modules are pre-requisites for the award.

There is no recognised prior learning (RPL) for entry onto the qualification, however RPL will be available following the course if learners wish to develop skills further and attain the Club Coach Certificate.
