Lightweight sculler and junior international medallist, Ed Fisher made his debut with the GB Rowing Team senior squad at the 2017 World Cup in Poznan.

He was joined by experienced scullers Jamie Copus, Gavin Horsburgh and Sam Mottram in the openweight quad, finishing eighth. In Lucerne for World Cup III, he finished 13th with Zak Lee-Green in the lightweight double scull.

Fisher was named in the lightweight quad for the 2017 World Rowing Championships in Sarasota-Bradenton, where he won silver alongside Lee-Green, Gavin Horsburgh and Peter Chambers.

He earned his first international vest at the GB vs. France match in 2010, and was selected for the lightweight men’s four for Essen International Regata in 2015 where he won two gold medals. Fisher raced in the lightweight men’s four again at the World Rowing U23 Championships in 2015 and 2016, winning fine bronze medals on both occasions.

Aged 11 Fisher won a membership to Loughborough Rowing Club at a local village fete, and it was here that his rowing career began. He later moved to train with Nottingham RC and enjoyed great success, winning medals at the National Schools Regatta and the British Rowing Championships.
