England retains both senior trophies for fifth year running at 2026 Home International Regatta, as Wales and Scotland claim junior honours
The annual match saw England sweep the senior trophies while Wales and Scotland took the Junior Men’s and Junior Women’s titles respectively

England hosted the annual Home International Rowing Regatta at London Docklands on 25 July 2026, with all four home nations, England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, competing across the junior, senior and adaptive categories.
England won both senior trophies for the fifth year running, Wales took the Junior Men’s Trophy, and Scotland claimed the Junior Women’s Trophy.
England
England retained the Annamarie Phelps Trophy (Senior Men) and the Dame Katherine Grainger Quaich (Senior Women) for the fifth consecutive year. The senior men won the U23 M1x, M2x, M4- and the M8+ over both the 2km and 500m distances. The senior women won the U23 W1x, W2x, W4- and W4x over the 2km course, and the W8+ over the 500m course.
Across the regatta, England finished with 16 wins, Scotland with 12, Wales with 11 and Ireland with 7.

Wales
Wales’s junior men set the tone early, winning all five sculling events on the day. They took the A and B finals of the JM1x, the JM2x and the JM4x, with wins recorded over both the 2km and 500m distances. The results secured the John Hartland Trophy for Wales for the first time since 2012, and only the third time Welsh athletes have taken a trophy home from the regatta.

Scotland
Scotland’s junior women won the Irish Travel Agency Cup for the first time since 1998, and for the seventh time overall. They recorded five wins across the day: the JW2x, the JW2- (A final) and the JW4x over the 2km course, plus the 8+ over both the 2km and 500m courses.
Across the regatta, England finished with 16 wins, Scotland with 12, Wales with 11 and Ireland with 7.
“It was fantastic to welcome our friends from the other Home Nations to the London Docklands once again”, said James Andrews, England Team Delegate and England Pathway Manager for British Rowing. “English Athletes performed amazingly both on and off the water, and it’s brilliant that our Senior Men and Women once again retained both of those trophies. It’s also fantastic to see Scotland and Wales pushing us hard this year and taking victories in the Junior Women’s and Men’s respectively.”
James continued, “I’d also like to give a big thank you to all the volunteers throughout the weekend. From those that help support the teams, the match organising committee, umpires and everyone who stepped forward to be everything from timers, to stakeboat holders to marshals. The weekend would not have happened would not have happened without you, and I am really grateful for the work put in by so many people.”
The home nations will next race at the Regatta in Ireland in 2027, but before then the nations will meet at The Home International Rowing Beach Sprints, hosted by Scottish Rowing on Nairn Beach, Nairn, near Inverness on September 19.
