Tyne Amateur Rowing Club – Club Manager
Tyne Amateur Rowing Club is looking for an experienced and dynamic Club Manager to lead its club’s operations, drive growth, and support the sporting and charitable mission.
Located on the banks of the River Tyne, our historic rowing club serves athletes of all levels—from beginners to competitors—and plays a vibrant role in the local community.
The Role
As Club Manager, you’ll be responsible for the smooth running of club operations including facility management, staff and volunteer leadership, financial oversight, and event coordination. You’ll also be instrumental in increasing income through events, memberships, and our hospitality offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day club operations and events
- Manage staff, coaches, and volunteers
- Monitor budgets and financial performance
- Maintain high standards of customer service
- Develop income streams (bar/café, venue hire, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and safeguarding policies
- Promote the club through social media and partnerships
About You
Essential:
- 2+ years’ experience managing a hospitality venue
- Management experience in a club, venue, or leisure setting
- Proven leadership and staff management skills
- Strong financial acumen
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Comfortable using digital marketing and social media tools
- Organised, adaptable, and self-motivated
Desirable:
- Background in rowing or water sports
- Experience in charitable organisations
- Experience reporting to a board/trustees

Salary: Up to £35,000 dependent upon experience
