We’re Hiring!

We are recruiting for a Safeguarding Case Officer principally to support the management and investigation of safeguarding concerns and to provide advice to club welfare officers and others within rowing.

Full details including the role description and person specification can be found on the British Rowing Jobs page or on Indeed.

Welfare Officer Briefings

We wish to say a big “thank you” to all those Welfare Officers who attended one of the nine CWO briefings that we ran over the spring and early summer. Over 150 people attended the sessions with interesting discussions taking place and some useful take-aways stemming from them. We will be distributing a summary factsheet to all those who attended shortly.

If you missed the briefings and would like to discuss anything with the team we really encourage you to get in touch via [email protected].

Reporting a Concern

All safeguarding concerns relating to a child or adult at risk must be reported to the Safeguarding & Integrity team at British Rowing. We urge you to do this at the earliest opportunity so that we can assess the concern and provide support and advice on appropriate next steps.

There have been instances where a concern has not been reported for some time, which can make it more difficult to fully investigate, assess the risk and to ensure appropriate steps are taken.

You can report a concern via the secure reporting form on British Rowing website, or alternatively contact [email protected] for advice.

British Rowing Coaching Week

It is British Rowing Coaching Week 16th – 24th September and this year’s theme is Redefining Success! Keep a lookout for a recorded Q&A session with the Safeguarding & Integrity Team which will provide you with an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

Questions will be taken in advance; to submit a question or to sign up to a variety of other sessions across the week visit the Coaching Week page during August.

Coach Clean

Now is also a good time for coaches to refresh their Clean Sport knowledge (or even learn about this important topic for the first time). UK Anti-Doping have a dedicated course for coaches called ‘Coach Clean’. We encourage all coaches to complete the course, which is available online, is free of charge and is endorsed by CIMSPA.

You can access the course by registering on the UKAD Clean Sport Hub.
