British Rowing Almanack and Umpires’ Handbook 2023 now available

The 149th edition of the Almanack (incorporating the British Rowing Yearbook) is now available to buy and complimentary copies are on their way to affiliated clubs and life members

The 344-page Almanack, packed with photos throughout, is perhaps first and foremost a definitive record of last year’s racing results, covering head races, regattas and other competitions for classic and coastal formats as well as skiff racing, ocean rowing and, of course, the GB Rowing Team and England Team.

Edited by volunteer Maggie Phillips, the Almanack includes material from many contributors across the rowing community in England, Scotland and Wales. This year’s feature article is on Wavemakers: Hosting the World Rowing Coastal Championships and Beach Sprint Finals in Saundersfoot, Wales. The Obituaries section pays tribute to those we lost in 2022.

The British Rowing Yearbook section provides a wealth of key information all in one place, from who’s who on the staff, Committees, Panels and Regional Rowing Councils, to the Rowing Directory of clubs (with colour illustrations of their blades) and competitions. It also contains the latest version of the Rules of Racing, which came into effect on 1 April 2023, which can also be download here (as a pdf or App) along with a summary of changes.

Any Life members who have not received their copies in a week’s time should contact [email protected] to check that we have an up to date postal address for you.

All other pre-ordered copies are also in the post.
