International junior racing is back in Munich on the 7 and 8 May and 30 athletes will be representing Great Britain at the regatta. These talented young rowers will have their first shot at international racing since the pandemic, with all of them making their GB U19 international debuts.

John Layng, U19 Team Manager at British Rowing said: “After an absence of three years, I am so happy to be taking a squad of U19 rowers to Munich International Junior Regatta.

“This is an important development opportunity for our young international rowers and the experience that they gain from racing top-class European crews will challenge them to step up towards a world-class level of performance. There have been few chances to experience high level competition recently so this will be invaluable for them as they progress towards competitions later this summer. I would like to thank the rowers’ clubs, schools and parents for their support in enabling them to take part in the regatta.”

Louise Kingsley, British Rowing Director of Performance added: “It’s wonderful to see U19 racing is back after what has been a challenging time for athletes, families, their clubs and coaches. I wish the GB athletes the best of luck at Munich and want to extend thanks to the support team, many of whom are volunteers, and who have worked so hard to get our U19’s back to international racing!”
