British Rowing is delighted to announce the 2022 Selection Policy and volunteer opportunities for the GB Beach Sprint Team.

We are committed to growing all forms of rowing including coastal sculling and as the host nation of the 2022 World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals in Saundersfoot, Wales. It is our aim to use this event as a springboard to build a world leading coastal sculling programme in the lead up to the 2026 Youth Olympic Games and the potential inclusion into the 2028 Olympic programme.

British Rowing will be sending both a junior and senior team to represent Great Britain at the 2022 World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals, taking place in Saundersfoot, between the 14-16 October.

As well as announcing the 2022 Selection Policy, British Rowing is looking to recruit three voluntary positions to lead the development of this exciting area.

Louise Kingsley, Director of Performance for the GB Rowing Team said: “This is a rare opportunity for one of our GB teams to compete on home waters. I look forward to seeing a combination of rowers, coaches and volunteers from both our coastal and river communities come together to learn more about this new discipline, compete against each other for best and then have the opportunity to test ourselves against the rest of the world later this summer.”

More information regarding the Beach Sprint Team, the Selection Policy and a link to for Registration & Interest form can be found on the GB Beach Sprint Team page.
