Su, one of our Go Row Indoor Instructors describes why she’s been taking on a Movember Challenge, “Movember fund life-changing mental health programs and groundbreaking research and scientific breakthroughs for prostate cancer and testicular cancer treatments. This year, along with too many others, some awesome men in my life have been dealing with some of these stark health challenges so I’ve created a Mo-Row campaign to do my bit to help raise awareness and some ‘mo-dough’ to help more men survive their conditions and thrive beyond them.

“A Mo-Row fundraiser seemed all the more appropriate because there is strong research to show a positive link between exercise and mental health, and exercise and some cancers. More specifically, as a rowing coach and a personal trainer qualified in GP Exercise Referral I know and love the fact that rowing is a great way to exercise because of how adaptable it is. I am delighted to be able to provide classes adaptable for all fitness and health backgrounds so more people can grow to love rowing and benefit healthwise too.”

It’s not too late to get involved and anyone can become a ‘Mo-Bro’ or ‘Mo-Sister’ and get involved with Su’s challenge. There’s four great ways to get involved:

  1. Join a Go Row Indoor rowing class at Kingston Rowing Club or Twickenham Rowing Club – book here and all profits will be donated
  2. Join a Fluid Fitness online rowing class – book here and all profits will be donated
  3. Sponsor Su for rowing 2 x 6 km every day in November. This challenge is for men’s suicide prevention.
  4. Book a 30-minute 1:1 or in-person indoor rowing coaching session with Su for £25. £15 of that can be donated direct to Movember.
