Simon Hewitt – a volunteer with inspirational attitude

Simon Hewitt was nominated for the Volunteer of the Year Awards by WAGS for his work at Bristol Ariel Rowing Club.

Simon’s main impact on the club has been to promote the club in the public eye, inspire those around him while enjoying a full rowing and sculling career.

Not only has Simon lead Bristol Ariel’s junior squad for three years, he has been involved with organising rowing events and social rowing events. As web master he has re-formatted the Ariel website and continues to keep it updated.

Simon has assisted with building projects, boat refurbishment, and has undertaken ground enhancement projects and coaching. His attitude around the club is inspirational to all around him. He is keen, enthusiastic and well liked by all our members and is also greatly valued by the University of the West of England where he assists in coaching, coxing and training camps.
