Lightweight women miss out on a medal

GB Rowing’s lightweight women’s quadruple scull narrowly missed out on a medal on the final day of the 2008 World Championships this afternoon in Linz, Austria.

They finished fourth in 6:41.56, just under a second behind the USA who led the field through the middle part of today’s final before being overhauled by winners Australia and eventual silver medallists, Poland. Germany were fifth.
