Monica Relph

Monica was selected for the women's eight for the World U23 Championships in Racice, where she won a gold medal.

She has been part of GB Rowing's World Class Start programme, having been identified in 2005. She began rowing at Rob Roy Boat Club under the guidance of Mary McLachlan and Adrian Cassidy, mostly sculling in her single.

Monica played netball and hockey while at school although she admits she does not come from a sporty background. She would like to stay involved in sport by getting a job in it when she is older.

Her pastimes include films, music, cooking and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys riding her motorbike, a Suzuki, when she is at home.

She is currently at Loughborough University studying Sport Science.
