Samantha Scowen

Samantha Scowen

Sam raced with Nick Beighton in the TA mixed double scull at the 2011 World Rowing Championships in Bled, Slovenia, finishing 6th.

At the first World Cup of 2011 in Munich Sam raced in the TAMix2x with newcomer Nick Beighton, winning the bronze medal.  A promising start for such a new pairing.

Sam raced in the adaptive TA mixed double at the 2009 World Championships in Poznan, where she and James Roberts finished 5th.   This followed their fine gold medal at the 2009 Munich World Cup.  Unfortunately she was without a partner for the 2010 season.

She was a new member of the Adaptive Squad in 2009 and was selected for the 2009 Varese International Regatta in April where she won a silver and a bronze in the TA mixed double sculls and achieved a personal best.

Samantha completed a Foundation Diploma at Thames Valley University and has a general interest in music and film.   She has a big interest in coaching and hopes to have a career in it in the future.

Sam is Lottery Funded through UK Sport.
