England Rowing

The England Rowing Team offers a significant development opportunity for rowers and coaches, providing valuable experience in a supportive international competitive environment. It’s specifically tailored to aid those athletes and coaches who are diligently working towards representing Team GB in the 2028 and 2032 Olympic Games, fostering their progress along the GB Pathway.

Representing England is a unique development opportunity for both rowers and coaches wishing to gain international experience. For some, it could be the first step to representing Great Britain. If selected you’ll be following the footsteps of many athletes who have rowed for Team GB including;

• Clare Jamison, World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals Silver Medalist, Genoa 2024 (2022 – CW1x)

We are incredibly proud to have had so many athletes, coaches and clubs represent England over the years. Recent team annoucments can be found below. We also wish to thank the Irish Rowing Archives who have kept an historical record of all HIR programmes. The Home International Rowing Beach Sprints

The Home International Rowing Beach Sprints is a new event with the four “Home Nations” of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales competing. The event is building off the rich history of its sister event the Home International Rowing Regatta, which has seen many Olympians racing for their first international representation. We hope the Home International Rowing Beach Sprints will create a clear pathway onto Great Britain and Ireland national teams in the decades to come.

The 2025 Home International Rowing Beach Sprint will take place on Saturday, 20 September at Loughros Point, Co Donegal, Ireland and will be hosted by Rowing Ireland and Loughros Point Rowing Club.

Team Selection

We welcome and encourage entries from anyone who meets the eligibility requirements to represent England and selection for the England Beach Sprint Team for the Home International Rowing Beach Sprints 2025 will take place through multiple events as outlined in our selection policy below.

England Rowing and its Home International Rowing Teams are part of British Rowing’s England Pathway. British Rowing is responsible for the selection of individuals and crews representing England only. Teams for Scotland and Wales are selected by Scottish Rowing and Welsh Rowing respectively.
